This is one of the most exclusive denim brands in the world, and we just got a shipment. This is Pure Blue Japan. What makes Pure Blue Japan so exclusive is the fact that their production is so slow and so labor intensive and so heavily detailed that they can't be everywhere. So they pick very limited shops throughout the world to house their product. We're honoured to be one of them.
Of course, pure blue Japan originated in 1997 out of Okayama by Kenichi Iwaya, known as the SLUB master, just creates the most beautiful textured denim, unbelievable in its fade properties.
So why are these fade patterns so unique to Pure Blue Japan? They have extremely low tension weaving, get tons of highs and lows in the texture, and all the highs tend to lose Indigo first, and you get this beautiful rainfall effect.
And the way these pieces feel is actually truly unmatched. Pure Blue Japan sizing is a little bit different. You're gonna see numbers corresponding to sizes. If you want a really tailored, structured look, I would go true to size, but if you want something a little bit more relaxed, I would go up one side. So instead of a three, go to a four. Overall, Pure Blue Japan takes quality over quantity to the greatest level.

Created in 1997 in Okayama, Japan, founder Kenichi Iwaya, also known as the "Slub Master", is renowned for creating textured denim with exceptional and unique fade patterns.
The signature "rainfall" fade patterns are achieved by extremely low tension weaving which creates an uneven fabric surface with highs and lows in the denim, causing the indigo on the highs to fade faster than the lows.
